Tony was born in Edcouch Tx, to Librada and Trinidad Medrano of San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and Dallas Police Officer and his legacy will live on throughout all those he met.

He joined the army at 18 yrs old during the Vietnam era. He was stationed in Germany for most of his enlistment and worked on nuclear weapon programs. In the late 1960's he joined the Dallas police department and served on the bomb squad. He also served as a patrol officer for many years. After retiring from the DPD twice, he missed policing and joined DART and retired after 9 years.

After retirement he devoted his time to church and being there for his family in all their walks of life. He was known for his big personality and bigger laughs and some jokes only he found funny. Including the time on his honeymoon he changed his wife's picture to his prized fish.

Tony is survived by his wife Kim Jackson Medrano, his daughter Catalina H Medrano De Barrera and husband Miguel. Kim's sons:  Richard and wife Maureen Jackson and Mark and his wife Amy Jackson. Grandchildren: Tony Medrano and wife Rain, Anna Stewart and husband Caleb, Luca Medrano and girlfriend Lana, Gianna Barrera, Van, Erin, Brinley, Emery, and Ally Jackson and Lane and Sydney Taliaferro and many great grandchildren. Sisters: Rosa Ybarra, Rosa "Kina" Medrano, Irma Sepulveda, and Angelita Medrano. Including his dearest friends Jesse Baca Sr., John McMaster, J.O. and Sonya Suttles and Blue Richie.
