With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kevin Edward Thurston, who left this world on June 5, 2026, at the age of 36.
Kevin was a unique and gentle soul whose curiosity about the world never stopped growing. He had a deep love of learning and was always seeking new knowledge and experiences. Whether he was teaching himself Japanese, earning his motorcycle license, reading a new book, or exploring a topic that captured his interest, Kevin approached life with intelligence, determination, and wonder.
He was creative by nature and found joy in drawing and expressing himself through art. Kevin also felt most at peace in nature. He loved being outdoors, surrounded by the beauty of the world around him, and he especially loved the water. Swimming brought him happiness and freedom, and many of his favorite moments were spent enjoying the outdoors.
Kevin’s heart was also reserved for the animals he loved so dearly. His beloved cats, Michi and Locki, were cherished companions who brought him comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.
More than anything, Kevin will be remembered for the person he was—thoughtful, inquisitive, kind, and genuine. He lived life on his own terms, finding meaning in learning, creating, and appreciating the simple things that brought him joy. Those who knew him will remember his unique spirit, his quiet strength, and the warmth he shared with the people he cared about.
Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Renee Henderson; his grandmother, Therese Kinnaird; his great-grandparents; and several beloved aunts and uncles.
He leaves behind his loving sister, Kacie Winn, and her husband, Andrew Winn; his treasured niece, Brynnlee Winn; his partner, Adriana Olmos; his grandfather, John Kinnaird; as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Though his time with us was far too short, Kevin’s love of life, learning, nature, and the people and animals he cherished will continue to live on through those who knew and loved him.
In keeping with Kevin’s wishes, no memorial or funeral service will be held. His family asks that those who wish to honor his memory do so in their own way—by spending time in nature, learning something new, creating something meaningful, or simply holding close the people and pets they love.
Forever loved. Forever remembered.
