Sweet Janelle is how everyone described her.
Margaret Janelle Hogge, born February 11th, 1928, in Murphy, Texas to Clarence and Bessie Ruthledge, peacefully ended her journey and went on to receive her heavenly crown on May 12th, 2026.
She graduated from McKinney High School and worked at the local newspaper before joining McKinney Bank. It was there she met the love of her life, Carl Hogge, a returning veteran from the war. They shared 52 beautiful years of marriage, and Janelle stood faithfully by his side through every business endeavor and adventure. Janelle was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. A talented seamstress, she made beautiful clothes for her daughters. Strong in her faith, she raised her girls to know the love of Jesus, leaving a lasting spiritual legacy for generations to come.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, her parents, Clarence and Bessie Ruthledge, her brothers, Clovis, J.C., and Conway, and her son-in-law, Johnny Lane. She is survived by her daughters, Carla Lane, Sherry Sharp, and husband, Ricky, and Angela Freeman, and husband, Jim. Four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
