James Edward O'Connor, 80, of Garland, Texas, passed away January 26, 2026. 

Jim was born December 22, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Louise and James O'Connor. 

 He served as a Captain in the United States Air Force as a civil engineer and later devoted more than 30 years to the City of Irving as a traffic and transportation manager, where he was respected for his dedication and professionalism. 

A longtime member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Jim sang in the choir beginning in 1975 and was known for his kindness and steady devotion to family and friends. 

He is survived by his son, Christopher O'Connor. 

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on March 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church, 1200 North Shiloh Road, Garland, TX 75042.
