Betty "Mom-B" Cook passed away February 14th after a long battle with lung and heart issues. She was born on October 2, 1938 to Dale Robert Thomas and Della Druzella Thomas in Salina, Kansas. She graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City and met the love of her life Johnny Cook. They married on June 8th, 1956 and moved to San Francisco while Johnny served in the Army and then moved back to Oklahoma City where she began her career in the financial field. She and Johnny moved to Eufaula, Oklahoma with their three children and ran two successful business, Cook's Grill and Ice Cream Parlor and the Doc's Longtown Service Station. In 1986, they moved to Dallas, Texas after Betty retired after 20 years with for FDIC. She and Johnny were married for 63 years and had 3 children. Betty had a passion for her grandchildren and helped raise several of them. Together they had 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Their passion for family allowed them to pave a way of life of kindness and instill in everyone that is not hard to be successful and to a be good person. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and Brother, son Michael Cook and wife Penny, daughter Lisa Boarman and grandson David Thomas Cook Jr. She is survived by son David Cook, grandchildren Travis Smith, Stephen Cook, Amanda Bruner and husband Stephen, Amber Cook, Ashley Cook and husband Charles O'Neal, JP Cook  and wife Brittny, Alesha Renton and husband Kristian, Bryce Boarman and wife Kaycee, Reagan Boarman, Tanner Boarman, and great grandchildren Stephen Cook Jr., Emily C., Aaliyah, Peyton, Korey, Emily O., Tucker, Aynslei, Kaylee, Katelynn, Levi, Lauren, Charlie, Logan, AJ, Margot, Kambrie, Holden. Funeral services for Betty Mom-B Cook will be Thursday February 19, 2026  at Garland Memorial Park (next to Williams Funeral Home) 1600 S Garland Ave., 75040. It will be a graveside service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Kidney Fund.
